Key information about the church

Where & when does the church meet?

Our church meets every Sunday at 10.30am for our Sunday Service - although we start gathering from 10.00 onward for refreshments and catching up with one another .  This is a great time to meet new people and find out what is going on. Visit our contact us page for location details.

First Sunday at Sheldon Road Church?

If you are new to Sheldon Road Church and would like to have someone meet you and show you around, please contact us and we'll make arrangements for you.

What should I expect when I visit the church?

You will receive a very warm welcome and there will always be someone on hand to answer your questions, show you around and direct you to where you need to go.  We have a fairly informal approach to the worship - although there many of the familiar elements present: singing, prayer and readings from the Bible.  Information and the latest news is normally given, as is typically a talk from the Minister or one of the leaders at the church.  Usually a Sunday morning service lasts around 1 hour or a bit more - but do come early to enjoy refreshments.

What happens to the children at church?

Some services are 'All Age', when the children stay and worship with the rest of the church, and some will have choices when after a time of worship together everybody can decide on various options in different rooms.  For all other services, children stay with their parents at the start of the service as we worship together.  Someone will announce when it's time for the children to go to their groups.  The children's group leaders will then take the children out to the more fun and relaxed areas within the Beacon Centre, leaving parents to enjoy the rest of the service.   A creche is also available.

For more information about what happens in the children's work please visit the relevant age groups under Young People.

Is there a dress code?

No! Please just be yourself and come dressed in your 'normal' clothes.

Will I have to join in?

Not at all! You are free to simply observe or participate as much as feels comfortable for you.

I have more questions, how can I get in touch and ask them?
